The 76th International Exhibition of Inventions Nuremberg in Germany successfully concluded in 2024, with Zhejiang E-Fuel Hydrogen Energy Co.,Ltd. standing out among more than 500 invention projects from around the world to win the Gold Medal for its "Inkjet Printing Preparation Method for Self-supporting Carbon Foam Electrodes Loaded with Transition Metal Single-atom Catalysts".
Introduction to the International Exhibition of Inventions Nuremberg (iENA)
Founded in 1948, the International Exhibition of Inventions Nuremberg (iENA), along with the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva and the America's Inventors Expo in Pittsburgh, is recognized as one of the world's top three invention exhibitions, ranking first among them. Having successfully held 76 editions to date, it is the oldest and most influential international invention exhibition in the world.

The technology awarded to E-Fuel this time effectively overcame the technical challenge of controlling the spray coating uniformity of the catalytic layer in AEM membrane electrode assemblies, achieving leapfrog improvements in catalytic layer uniformity and reliability, with coating tolerances controllable at the nanoscale. It significantly enhanced the mass-specific activity of the catalyst, drastically reduced the catalyst loading, and greatly improved the operating performance, product lifespan, and chemical stability of the membrane electrode assembly.
Thanks to the application of this innovative technology, E-Fuel 's AEM water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment has achieved an optimal energy consumption of 4.1 kWh/Nm³, withstanding multiple market challenges. With the successful commissioning of its new factory in October, the company has embarked on a new stage of mass production and delivery.
As a pioneering high-tech enterprise in China that has overcome AEM membrane electrode technology, E-Fuel will continue to focus on technological innovation in the future, strengthen core technology research and development, contribute to the process of energy transformation, and contribute to China's self-reliance in science and technology and the development of new types of productivity.
